Annie Lennox

Annie Lennox was born in Aberdeen Scotland on December 25 1954. Dorothy Farquharson was her mother, while Thomas Allison Lennox was her father. Lennox was awarded a scholarship to study at London's Royal Academy of Music for 3 years. The money she earned came from the student allowance, and relied off on a part-time job to supplement her funds. Lennox was able to make a change in her career path following her dissatisfaction with her inexperience and lack of talent comparison with the other Royal Academy students. Lennox was a flute player in a band named Dragons Playground in 1976. However she left when the band was featured on I.T.V.s talent contest New Faces. Her main role was as The singer for The Tourists from 1977 until in 1980. In this band, she made friends with Dave Stewart and together they formed their duo Eurythmics. Following that Lennox began working on her solo first album Diva that came out in 1992. It was a massive critical and commercial success. Nostalgia Lennox's 6th solo album was released in November 2014. The C.D. contains a collection of Lennoxs favorite blues and soul jazz tracks from her early years. Lepidoptera contains four improvised keyboard tracks. The E.P. is an accompanying piece to her art installation at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art called Now I Let You go... It's also her first independently released album. Annie Lennox is a Scottish singer and songwriter who was born on the 25th of December 1954. The Tourists were a new-wave band that achieved some success in the late 1970s. Then, she became a part of the band with her fellow musician Dave Stewart to form the pop duo Eurythmics. Lennox's debut album in 1992 Diva was a huge success, featuring a variety of songs like Why, and Walking on Broken Glass. Medusa is a studio album that features the cover versions of some popular songs such as No More I Love Yous and A Whiter Shade of Pale. Her six studio solo albums and her compilation album contain a variety of tracks.
